As always been, health and safety of our guests and employees remains our highest priority. With the experts in our team, we have carefully taken the necessary precautions to provide you with a safer holiday environment in accordance with the guidance of the World Health Organization and the legal regulations of the Health and Tourism authorities in Turkey. During your stay, we kindly ask you to follow these measures in order to protect not only your health also to protect the health of other guests and our employees serving you. We adapted our training programs, cleaning, disinfection practices and quality control activities to emerging risks, requirements and we are actively maintaining these practices and we clean all areas with disinfection equipment according to the nature of the surfaces in line with the relevant standards.
Your room is cleaned with disinfectant products and made ready for your use, and the bathroom amenities in your room are single-use. Daily cleaning of your room will be done by our housekeeping personnel by wearing a mask and disposable gloves. If you do not prefer our employees to enter your room for daily cleaning, towel change or mini bar service please inform the reception.
Safety & Social Distancing…
According to our social distance plan, we arranged our lobby, restaurant and bar to provide 1,5 meters clearance between each table and adjustments has been made in some of our areas and services. In line with our social distance plan, 1,5 meters social distance rule has been applied between double sunbed groups and we placed signs at the service areas where you may have to wait.
For your use, we placed hand disinfectants at the entrances of the service areas. Please disinfect your hands frequently throughout the day. If you or any of your family members develop common signs of COVID-19 including respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties we kindly ask you to remain in your room and get in contact with reception without any delay. We would like to kindly remind you that, legal consequences may arise if you hide, hold out on from hotel management any information regarding COVID-19 symptoms or findings or if you don’t follow the measures.

Bayram tatilinde 3 gece 4 gün tam deniz manzaralı suit odada konakladık. İşletme bu yıl el değiştirmiş. Odanın temizliğinden manzarasına, Mehmet Usta’mın el lezzetinden İlker Bey’in güler yüzüne kadar her şey harikaydı.
We stayed in a suite room with full sea view for 3 nights and 4 days during the holidays. The business changed hands this year. Everything from the cleanliness of the room to the view, from Mehmet Usta’s hand delicacy to İlker’s smiling face, everything was wonderful.
We stayed here for just over a week in the middle of summer. The hotel upgraded our room which just completed a truly wonderful experience at Kalkan. The location of the hotel is away from the hussle and bussle and about 30 seconds away from crystal clear water beaches. The staff were polite and friendly – even the chef catered to our varied meal requests. Breakfast was a mix of hot and cold and plentiful, it was like our own personal buffet. The hotel is clean and adheres to COVID protection protocols (a big win as many around the area didn’t have the same standards). You can walk to the local market (or call them as they deliver). The staff are super friendly and really helped a lot with navigating around Kalkan. The hotel’s location is not central so you may benefit from having a car. We will definitely come back here again and would definitely recommend to those of you who want gorgeous beaches that are not heavily populated, comfort and clean rooms with beautiful views and quick and ready access to markets and restaurants.
We had one of the smaller rooms but it was very clean and because Kalkan and its surrounds are so stunning and full of things to see and do that was perfect. We also drove to Kaş (which is great for shopping for souvenirs and jewellery and other Knick knacks for a good price as Kalkan is more pricey because it’s saturated with Brits whereas Kaş is predominantly where Turks holiday and just a 30 min drive from Kalkan); Kekova to do a private day-long boat trip with the legend Captain Mutlu (+90 532 767 19 48). We also drove to Saklıkent, which is absolutely stunning.
We would highly recommend eating at Salonica 1881 in the Kalkan town centre. If you’re going to a seaside town in Turkey, please eat the seafood!! The staff here were amazing and classy. At Salonica 1881 PLEASE eat their mezze’s (fava is a must!!), the grilled octopus and the fresh (not farmed) fish, which you choose from inside the restaurant. It was the most delicious seafood we have ever had and we’re saying that as Australians!! Oh and don’t forget to wash it down with a glass of Rakı 😉
In Kaş we ate at Havana Balık Evi. Their food was cheap and so delicious and they seemed to be a family run business – such lovely people. So please support them! We had balık ekmek (fish sandwich), shepherd salad and locally caught fresh calamari which was fried in a delicious light batter and served with a beautiful light sauce.
We would highly recommend staying at Kuluhana and driving around to make sure you see and experience all these amazing places and people. Some photos below. Kalkan, Kaş, the ancient Lycian, Greek and Roman ruins in Patara and Xanthos, the sunken Lycian city in Kekova, Kaputaş beach and the beautiful national park of Saklıkent with its river, waterfall and white water rafting surrounded by pomegranate trees are a must see!!
After being greeted with the warmest of welcomes we were taken to our penthouse apartment and could not believe our eyes. The views were breathtaking from the luxurious comfort of our verandah. We then swam in both pools and the sea whilst being served drinks and relaxing in the glorious sunshine whilst still looking at that view. Our trip was completed with a delicious freshly prepared meal in the restaurant at which we were asked what music we wished to listen to. At the end of the meal we were joined by the owner who is the most caring and generous host you could wish to meet. Our only complaint is we didn’t stay longer..but we will be back.
This hotel is in the best location of Kalkan not in main centre but just a short boat or taxi ride away from the main harbour. The views are fabulous and we stayed in a recently renovated room which was large and exceptionally clean. The Manager and staff cannot do enough to help and the beach club just opposite the hotel is peaceful with lovely staff and the food is good. You can swim in the sea from the beach club and there is also a small pool as well as a pool at the hotel. The food is typically Turkish at the hotel and may not always come in the order you order it but it is nevertheless home cooked and very tasty. Would highly recommend The Kuluhana only think I would say is there are steps down to the beach club so not good if mobility is a problem otherwise fantastic place
